BLOWING OUR OWN TRUMPET -
Help us to improve Chatterbox is recognised for the high standards of presentation which we have evolved. We recently won the Invitation Trophy (above) in the Cairngorms National Park & Nairn Media Awards. We are also very proud to boast that we have been chosen as Community Newspaper of the Year, 2008, in the Highlands & Islands Media Awards. Wherever possible we are still keen to improve our standards and the overall service which we give to the Community. We are trying to make the magazine more interactive, so that more people can become involved in its production, sharing the production workload. Mike Mike Noble is our Editor, and is responsible for layout and design. He also maintains our website. He worked as an Architect until retirement. He is also a member of Inverness Film fans, and produces their Newsletters and maintains their website, too.
Claire Claire Divine has recently taken on the job of Secretary to the Group, responsible for sending copies of our quarterly magazine to the British Library etc. (this applies to everything published in Britain), dealing with subscriptions and records and calling and recording our quarterly Committee Meetings and AGM.
Margaret Margaret Leggatt is our Treasurer. She works as a home carer, and lunch time auxiliary at Avoch primary school, Also Treasurer of Avoch and Killen Community Council, her interests include lapidary, science fiction and autobiographies.
Linda Linda Bailey is our Advertising and Distribution Manager. She runs her own business as a personal athletic trainer and gives a great deal of her enormous energy and enthusiasm to the Avoch Congregational Church, where she is an Elder.
Trevor Trevor Powell is our Chairman, and also does our printing, assisted from time to time by Sandy Mitchell. He is a retired Banker and, together with his wife, runs his own Bed & Breakfast business.
Fiona Fiona Taylor is taking on the position of Story Editor andis also a general reporter. A Chatterbox reader from its start, when she lived in Avoch, she now lives in Fortrose.
